Diary - Germany

Sunday 3rd February 2002 - DAY 4

Starting point: Stu and Liz's house, Stuttgart, Germany
Ending point: Schwartsee campsite, Kitzbuhel, Austria
Distanced travelled: 294 miles

Great day - really hot again (26 °C). Had a lie in, then spent most of the day relaxing outside on Stu and Liz's patio while they cooked us a Sunday roast - we were so well looked after that we did seriously consider staying there for the next 6 months and writing a fictional diary for the rest of the trip. We reluctantly re-packed our bags and set off at about 3pm on the road down to Kitzbuhel in Austria. Our journey took us down through Germany and into the Tirol mountains - unfortunately it was already dark as the motorway ended and we headed along the bendy mountain roads. I imagine it must have been quite pretty though. We found the all-year-round campsite at Kitzbuhel, parked up alongside all the nice, warm motorhomes and put up our tent. The temperature had now dropped to about -4°C so we used all our means to keep warm: 2 sleeping bags, a fleecey liner, fleecey clothes, a big rug + a hot water bottle (each).
